I LOVE ART, I LOVE KIDS . . .
It all had to start somewhere, I guess, but really I think it snuck up on me!

Hi! I'm Amy DesChenes, founder of Paint the Moon Blue, and I was raised in an Art Gallery owned and operated by my parents who also sold art supplies. My dad not only painted - mostly acrylics - he also did diorama work for what is now the Ecotarium in Worcester. He was a signmaker and window display artist after graduating from Art School (sent on the GI bill after WWII), and he designed and built more than one house and the gallery (in an old dairy).

I'm a RISD alum and majored in Graphic Design and Film Video. I've had my own Art Gallery and Graphic Design businesses in the past and have also worked in Theatre as well as film video -- producing, writing, and directing commercials and Music Videos (during the early MTV days) . . .

Then Came the CHILDREN!!
I have three amazingly beautiful, silly and loving children. After they came along a shift began to take place in my life. I wanted to volunteer with kids all the time. I volunteered at my son's school, then his daycare doing fun crafts that were simple and fast! I found seeing the smiles on those faces was a great reward! I still needed a flexible schedule, however as along came babies two then three!

Here I AM!
Long story short, over the past 6 years I've found myself doing more and more volunteering at the schools and doing facepaint for fun for myself and MY kids who always want to challenge me! There's nothing more satisfying than when they tell me "WOW! You did that? That's the BEST!" and they really mean it.
